Summertime makes me sew. It makes me want to chase my dreams a little more. It makes me happy.
I made these floral shorts! (Recognize the lace tank that I made last summer?)
Sidenote: I made the denim vest by cutting the sleeves off of an old jean jacket. I love denim.

Sooo I sewed an envelope clutch.

Stylish.

Perfect size for keys, lipstick, and some cash.

Magnet snap closure.

Black & white—>matches everything.

I saw this idea on Stumble Upon and decided to give it a try. I used twine for the white bracelet and embroidery floss on the rest of them. I was definitely lost in the hardware store looking for hex nuts, and bronze hex nuts are nearly impossible to find in large quantities at Lowe’s. The black and bronze bracelet is my favorite!

I made this fringe shirt from knit jersey—the same material as a Hanes T-Shirt, basically. It’s a great day shirt, but I wish I had made it in a fun color. Oh well, white shirts are essential. Enjoy!

This dress is a birthday present for a friend, and it turned out so well that I wanted to keep it for myself..but, how selfish. The cream color is actually lace (I know, always putting lace on everything). This is a great color for people with a dark summer tan, because it isn’t too bright but it has enough color to compliment the skin.

I know I have posted two different pairs of shorts now that I have said I was going to make, but I ended up making these red floral shorts today instead. I didn’t know what style of shorts I had in mind, so I came up with the design as I went along. There are four pleats on the front, which I think adds a sophisticated look. Floral shorts are a trendy item this summer, and I think this red pair is going to fit right in.

It’s fine. I just made this American flag tank top that Kate Bosworth wore to Coachella from TopShop. Obsessed.

All you need:

-White tank top (I made mine)

-Oxford blue spray paint (or some other shade of light navy)

-Red spray paint

-Star stickers

-Masking tape

-Newspaper

This dress is pretty simple, but I would consider it one of those necessities that everyone needs for staying stylish this summer. It would be great to pair with a chunky necklace, a skinny belt, bangles, or some wedges. Plus, this color is perfect for showing off your sunkissed skin.
